Data experts (hospital pharmacists from the individual children’s hospitals) send their clinic-internal dosage recommendations to the harmonisation specialists (pharmacists working for SwissPedDose). Based on these recommendations and a systematic literature review, the harmonisation specialists prepare a dosage proposal for the harmonisation experts (doctors from the respective specialist areas). They debate the proposal together on a specially created interactive platform (the harmonisation tool) until a consensus (national dosage recommendation) is reached. The diagram below illustrates the process. When harmonising in the temporary expert groups, this process may deviate slightly.
